On my recent cruise from Boston, I had the opportunity to fly Delta Airlines Business Class again. I feel it was time to update things and provide a new view. Flying from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico thru Atlanta to Boston was our planned route. This was a partner airline Aeromexico ticket and the flights back were on Aeromexico.
Delta seems interchange the terminology of their flights between first class and business class and there was absolutely no difference in the experience. The most annoying thing with Delta are the numerous security checks done by the airline! It starts at the ticket counter before you even get to the counter, their are questions asked by some security guards. Then of course you have to clear the airport security area and then again in the boarding lines you have to answer the same security questions. Then they pick out not just a few special screenings at the gate entry way, a lot more than any other airline. I do not understand why ONLY Delta feels it is necessary to do all these screenings and it is very annoying!
Once on board our Delta Airlines Business Class, we are offered the choice of water or OJ before the departure. Due to the length of the flight, there was no urgency to start in cabin service, but after we reached cruising altitude it was started. Choice of drink and warmed mixed nuts are served first.
Lunch choices on Delta Airlines Business Class were either Adobo Chicken breast with rice and vegetables or Cheese Ravioli with tomatoes sauce. Both included a small salad with vinaigrette and a apple tartlet for dessert. They were both served hot and flavorful!

The seating configuration is 2-2 with the standard leather Delta Airlines Business Class seats in their blue motif. The center armrest is wider and has a place for beverages at the end with another pull out mini tray beyond that. The space between seats is ample, however, when the seat in front of you is reclined it does cut back on that space. This makes it very tricky and uncomfortable to get out of your window seat to use the restroom. You have to practically sit on the center armrest to do so! The tray table is within the arm rest and as a larger man, I cannot understand why the trays do not pull out more. I always have the tray table against my stomach. There is plenty of room in the front to allow a more comfortable experience.

As you can see, Delta Airlines Business Class still uses archaic screens built into the back of seats. Small and low quality is the norm here!
Delta Airlines has become very stingy with their airport lounge access and most of the time you can not get in unless you are flying a certain route in 1st class. Luckily, we had partnered with Aeromexico, so then they can “rework” your ticket for lounge access. Quirky but true! We only had about 45 minutes in Atlanta, so it was a quick visit. But the lounge here was very impressive!

Did I see a more improved Delta Airlines Business Class from my last review in 2022? Probably not, same old, same old, so maybe they will finally improve their on board product and provide something special for the future.
